I won’t be. I didn’t spend $1200 on a dress to wear it for half the wedding. I’ve never seen it at wedding I’ve been to. I think it’s mostly poplar because celebrities do it.

I’ll be changing after our exit from the reception into a different dress to go out to the bar! I don’t want anything getting spilled on my wedding dress. I only spent $70 on my after party dress (it’s a bridesmaids dress from Azazie but it doesn’t look like a tent on me 😂)

Yes I am!! And only because I got both dresses for under the budget I had for 1 dress. My ceremony dress I got on sale for a steal and will wear it till after dinner. But the skirt is very thick with alot of tulle and will be hot for dancing. I found my second dress when I went shopping with my bride tribe. It is sexier body hugging dress but has stretch ..it is still a beautiful gown but will be great for dancing ..i am going to change right before 1st dance and keep.it on for the afrerparty...here is my 2 dresses and I love them both equally 😍 need some booby tape and some some Spanx for dress 2 though 😋 😆 im going to have the second dress bustled immediately. It's completely up to you!

I wore my wedding dress for our 8-guest Covid elopement and kind of want another dress to change into for our celebration next year just so I get to surprise my husband on that day since he already knows what my dress looks like. I have bought (and returned or resold) a few different reception options but really haven't settled on anything I love and might just end up wearing my same dress all night.

Reasons to wear it all night:

    1) Maximize wearing the dress you'll never wear again and spent a small fortune on.

    2) Save money by not buying a second dress.

    3) All of your photos will have the same dress in it. No regrets about wearing the "wrong" dress for a photo op that comes up.

Reasons to have a second reception dress:

    1) Your ceremony dress is uncomfortable to wear all night. Perhaps its heavy, hot, or fitted so tightly you cannot eat or sit down.

    2) You really love two different styles of dress and can't decide between them, and you can afford a second dress. Or maybe you're more of a jumpsuit kinda gal but want a traditional dress for your ceremony.

    3) Your after ceremony plans would ruin your wedding dress (such as bar hopping, going on a dinner cruise, doing some outdoor adventure, etc). Maybe your dress has a long train and cannot be bustled easily, or has a pouffy ballgown skirt and cannot slink between narrow spaces.

    4) You want to surprise your hubby (and guests) all over again.

    5) You want to wear a dress that your mom, grandma, sister, etc wore for their wedding but also want your own dress.

Another note - it's not a bad idea to have a "back-up" dress in case your wedding dress fails somehow. It's unlikely but it could rip, get soaked during a freak rainstorm at an outdoor ceremony, get stained by wine or dirt, etc. If you have a second reception dress you automatically have a "back-up" outfit, but you can also use a dress you wore for your shower or rehearsal dinner in a pinch if needed, so getting a second dress certainly isn't necessary.

I have a form fitted dress with cathedral train and veil for wedding then I'm changing into a ballgown for the reception so I'm able to sit down comfortably.

I thought about it and had doubts at first because everyone was like why spend so much on a dress not wear it the whole time but I wanted to be able to dance comfortably and move around without holding my train so I plan to change out of my dress. It's really your preference and what you want to do.

Nope, I'm staying in my dress the whole time. I'm getting a bustle so i don't have to worry about the train.
