So we’ve been married a little over a week and I am back and forth with this name change. I went into this wanting to hyphenate my last name instead of changing it completely. I like my last name. What is your reasoning for wanting to change your last name?

I am praying Imani that it all goes ok since my count down some fears trying to come sir pass. Now I've had dreams that I saw the whole wedding and it was great. But I didn't know there is a such thing as wedding fears but I guess is because 2 big things that has not been done. But I think its because we as brides have these fears of things going wrong because we want a perfect day. So to keep me from not thinking it I try to talk myself down and place my thoughts if and when it comes to mind. I start thinking about other stuff or play a game to keep my mind occupied

That’s all you can do! Because we all have those thoughts. I know I did. But everything went perfect and I was just telling Britany today I want to do it again lol 😆

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣some would say the overall planning or money that was spent definitely a man will say it. But for me I love planning it and looking for things thinking of ideas seeing all of the cute stuff the sparkling bling. And the dress shopping for me I loved the most playing dress up. Oh and reliving the my proposal again the whole moment

Yes. I'm in super into history and family crests since I was young, so being / joining the house of whatever was always intriguing to me. Yet I truly wasn't into marriage until I met my husband really. So it all worked out I suppose.

I just want to second this! Some careers and their respective companies can have different last names and be totally okay! Communicating with HR can be the biggest lifesaver to keep you and them out of legal trouble in some circumstances. Just take caution if you have career that requires you to work under a state and/or federal license. (For example nurses and physicians work under legal licenses and must have their legal name match their name on license with their state(s) boards. Lawsuits and permanent redaction of licenses can occur when practicing between mismatched names.) State and federal agencies usually have a 30 day grace period (varies by state/agency/company) for you to notify them within and have it confirmed on their end too. I highly recommend knowing your position, licenses, and anything else that is required for you to work in your field of expertise.

That's good that you enjoyed the process. I have too most of it but when you uncooperative ppl it an get stress. You already know my issues but when they didn't stress me and still is bc. They didn't like something that I chose but it's my wedding not yours. I went to the venue again so we can put a plan together on how I want things. But others telling me No! Particularly our daughter 🤦🏽♀️i let her get it that way for now but we will have another meeting and that will be veto lol lol than those things I love the planning now I'm strength thinly. I just want us to have just cant wait for it.
I’m getting married September 17th and I’m going to definitely change my last name … I’m not a big fan of my family so I’m excited to get away from that name ! It will also be nice to have the same last name as our 3 daughters!
Sharing the same name definitely should be better in that case. It also is often easier to change your name after having the wedding license since those often let you specify your new name and then don't have as many obstacles subsequently (than if you just did a name change apart from the license). Hope the best!
