Change the Date wording

Jackie, on July 9, 2020 at 11:56 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

Hi,
My Fiance and I have just postponed our retrospection until next year. We are still planning on getting married on our original date 9/26/20 and having a small ceremony and dinner with our bridal party and immediate families.

I am not sure how to word our change of date cards for our celebration that we are having next year since we still are getting married this year!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Jackie

Have you already sent invitations for your original date?

Most stationary websites have templates for change of date cards. I would say something like "___ and ___ will be married in a private ceremony on ___. Please save the date for a celebration of marriage on ___."

We sent new save the date magnets with this note:
Hello!Based on the last piece of mail you received from us, you may have been expecting this envelope to contain a wedding invitation. In fact, that’s what we were planning to send around this time. Unfortunately, things have not exactly gone as planned over the last few months. We are still planning to get married this year, but we don’t want you or anyone else we care about to get sick.Given the risks involved in having large groups of people together this summer, we have decided to postpone our wedding reception to 2021. We look forward to celebrating with you next year when it’s safer to gather in person. Love,A + J
