Change the date cards.. yes or no?

Anna, on November 21, 2020 at 12:26 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5
I am getting married on December 5th and we originally planned a 200 person wedding but with Indiana’s newest mandates we have to reduce our guest count to 50. We have decided to still get married in a private ceremony with our bridal party and families present on our original date. We are postponing our big reception to next December and also doing a 1 year vow renewal. Everyone that was originally invited has been made aware of these changes as we are only 14 days out. I am debating on creating and sending out “Change the Date” cards. Are they necessary or should I just wait to send out new invitations closer to next December?

I would do "change the date" cards. Otherwise, 150 of your original guest list will be very confused about what's going on.

I personally would not so close to the date... by the time you get them and send them out, it’ll be the day of lol
Anyone with a brain will realize what is going on...
    I wouldn’t stress over it! 🤍

I wouldn't spend that extra money if everyone is already aware. I would wait until closer to the vow renewal

We’re basically doing the exact same thing (we have tighter restrictions in NY so we’re all currently quarantining and just having our immediate families on Dec 5). I think Change The Date cards are a nice courtesy and a good reminder for folks of your 2021 date. We sent ours when we would have sent our invitations but, since you’ve still got a year until the bug event, I think there’s still plenty of time for them not to be a waste.

I wouldn't spend the extra money on new save the dates. You may want to send them electronic ones
