So my venue doesn't provide the food or drinks and I'm beginning to plan for our alcohol purchase. We're having a signature cocktail for the cocktail hour and hard liquor, beer, wine and soda for the remainder of the reception. We had everyone toast with what they had in hand but we provided champagne as an option at the bar.

I love drinking champagne at wedding, but I guess I'm one of the few lol. But I wouldn't pay extra to have it at the wedding, especially if it's just for the toast.

I think it's fine to skip and most people won't miss it, as long as there is other alcohol available.
