Champagne and Ivory Dress - shoe Help!

Aubrey, on May 6, 2019 at 11:45 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
Hello all!

So my dress is ivory on the bodice and champagne on the skirt. My girls will be wearing Bellini (I’ll post a pic below).

I have a pair of ivory ivory lace shoes that I like but they’re 3 inch heels and I want to be able to take off the heels and wear flats or something more comfortable at the reception BBQ.

Is it better to go with the heels I already have and have the dress be a little long at the reception? Should I buy new shoes, if yes, what color? I haven’t found any shoes that match my bridesmaids dresses.

My fitting is next weekend and I got behind on this site because of work and my MBA finals.

please help!

If your dress was a different material, I would definitely advise against leaving it long and switching your shoes. Being that it has a "soft" look and is tulle, I don't think it would look bad for the reception. Personally, I go with function over fashion, so I would just get a pair of flats or sandals and have it hemmed. I got a pair of pink velvet sandals. My girls are wearing a color closer to lavender. No need to match them.

What about boots? Comfy, fits the BBQ reception, and will give you a little height so you don’t trip on your dress.

P.S. Who is the designer??? That dress is gorgeous! Love the structured top & ethereal skirt.

I would just get some flats for the whole thing so you don’t have to worry about it being too long! And I also wouldn’t worry too much about the color bc no one is really going to see them so I would focus on comfort or something that fits your personality or a type of shoe you wear all the time that’s special for the wedding like maybe converse or boots.

Yep, I'd get one pair of shoes you're happy to wear the whole time. They can really be any colour you like. Blue is really popular. Or metallic?

Thank you all for your suggestions!! I was thinking about getting converse custom made for the reception but think my family wouldn’t like of I wore converse to the wedding so maybe I’ll get a pair of nice flats for the ceremony and do the converse for the reception. Thanks so much!

Is this Maggie's Harmony? I picked out this dress first and then fell in love with another dress, but yours looks just like the first one I purchased. Same colors I chose as well.Smiley smile. You look beautiful.
