So I'm hoping there would be nice weather and we could set up chairs our doors for the wedding We could do that early in the morning, my dad and me But then for the reception inside at the tables for dinner I'm thinking we will need the same chairs Is it rude to have guests carry their chair back...

We could do that early in the morning, my dad and me
But then for the reception inside at the tables for dinner I'm thinking we will need the same chairs
Is it rude to have guests carry their chair back inside?
I'm thinking most of them can carry their chairs I'm worried about a few of the elderly ones going to have some of us carry those ones in to make sure they get to their seats
How do I announce this? Or figure that out

As I explained before my parents and I will do the sides the day or evening before
The groom and Ffil are doing chicken before getting ready
They do this for other events
On the morning of I'll set up the reception tables and put the chairs outside the way we want
Then I'll get ready and relax
    There will be enough time
I just need to find a way to get the chairs from the ceremony to the reception tables

Will the chicken be served cold? If not, how are you going to keep it warm?

Do you have an option for vegetarians?

I’m renting a second set of chairs. Money we’ll spent, in my opinion

Heather, it is just a lot of work to self cater anything. let alone a high stress event like a wedding. I hosted my child's HS grad party last June: pasta bar, salad, french bread, etc. It was A LOT of work for about 75 people total and I did not have to serve them all at once, plus it was a much more laid back event than a wedding. It was in my home so I had the whole kitchen there. If my offspring wanted it in a local park I would have called Noodles and Co pronto.

I hear you say that your family has always done this, and that is very generous. Why not give them a break and cater with BBQ, Italian or Tex Mex? The cost would be the about the same and everyone can chill.

Plus afterwards - I want to go home, not tear down, pack leftovers and move stuff to the car.

    This was my families idea
    They are paying
I keep suggesting to my mom to cater and she says we don' need to
The first list is 60 ppl or less and at least 10 of them will be kids like little kids

Okay - pay for your own wedding and hire a catering service. It sounds as though you are locked into the self cater idea as Mom is calling the shots. Be prepared if someone gets sick. Not trying to harsh your buzz, I am being realistic.

Feeding 60 people through a catering company is not that expensive. I am hosting a family gathering this summer at a park, feeding 50 people and it is not that bad.

Please talk to your parents to re-think this.
