Chair Obsession

We have locked down our venue but we have a slight dilemma... the chairs. 😩 The venue provides the large white folding chairs and they are hideous. So, first question, DO THE CHAIRS MATTER? I think so because it is the overall presentation. Now, with that being said the venue is a steal, so we can splurge a little on extra things, like chairs. But then it comes back to Chiavari or Garden Chairs. 🤔 Someone with style — help. I have included pictures of all the chair styles and our venue. What ‘cha think?

No one really pays attention to the chairs...at least I never do. Unless its a nice comfy recliner or something...I can't tell you what any of the chairs looked like at any of the weddings I've been to in the last year. I'm pretty sure they had some....but by the time you get people sitting down (or up dancing the night away) and jackets or purses or anything like that thrown over them it's not going to be noticeable. So I personally would use the extra money on something else that I'd like to upgrade. But if chairs are important to you, then you go for it. Ultimately it is your day to do with as you wish.

I’d choose the $3.50 chairs. We used those and they are pretty, photograph well, and are comfortable.

I used to work for a wedding planner and at her rental shop. I’ve seen brides use all 3. The majority chose the garden chairs but the nicer weddings used the ballroom chairs. For myself, I chose to splurge on chairs and tables because they were part of my vision for the wedding.

Personally I love the look of Chiavari chairs! It was a must for my wedding because my biggest concern was the look of the wedding. If those white chairs are for the ceremony then it doesn’t matter. If they are for the reception room then I would say change it. The black garden chairs are a better option if you want to save on cost. Otherwise efavormart has the elastic/spandex chair covers in many colors and prices like $1.89-$3 a cover that you could use on the white chairs. They also always have a discount off!(try to wait for 20% deals otherwise it’s usually 10-15% off)

No one really cares what the chairs look like!! I’ve been to 8 weddings this year. I can only remember the sitting for one of them because the grooms father made the benches and ours broke when we all sat on it for the ceremony!!

I personally love the look of the Chiavari chairs and think they make any event look for elegant, but the garden chairs are nice liking also. Just go with whatever fits the budget!

I don’t have much cushion in the trunk so I do remember if I felt comfortable right after the wedding. But as to the style or look, nope.

That’s exactly what my husband said - he never pays attention to the chairs or decor. I’m totally opposite, I pay attention to details. I love the details.

That’s my life. I’m an officiant, so I’m at weddings a lot. I love the chiavari and ghost chairs.

That’s a thought! Luckily our ceremony is in a modern chapel, so this will only apply to the reception.

Oh no!!! That’s one of my fears. We were at a wedding a few months ago and they hair the clear chiavari chairs. They were so flimsy. I just knew mine would break, luckily it didn’t.

I totally agree. Chiavari chairs have a lot of elegance to them. Especially for the decor we are planning.

I understand that! Luckily, both have a padding or cushion except their chairs. Comfort is key!

200 total. 192 guest chairs and preferably 8 bar stools for the wedding party.

If you have room in the budget, I would opt for at least the middle chairs if you don't want the free ones!

That number sounds like you’re having a more upscale wedding. I’d go with the chairs in the photo.

Exactly!! I don’t care about chair styles, as long as they hold up our guest!!
Chair Obsession 5 It’s hard to see but these are the church chairs we’re using.
