Chair covers- more important for ceremony or reception?

Josie, on June 27, 2018 at 11:02 AM Posted in Planning 0 15
Our venue only has 50 chair covers. We only have 45 guests so it’s nbd- except unless we buy 50 more ourselves, it’s either chair covers for the ceremony or chair covers for the reception. I am leaning towards ceremony. Just because it’s more elegant while our reception is more casual and fun! Also, ceremony is outside - we are in Florida- in the shade but reception is inside. What do you guys think? I don’t have a budget to purchase 50 addtl atm but maybe we can figure out a way in the future.

I personally like the look of them at the reception better, especially if it's indoors. The ceremony is such a short time in relation to the reception, and I think it ties the space together nicely.

But it also depends on the venue! Do you have pictures by chance?

Chair covers aren't important for either the ceremony or the reception.

There are precious few chairs that are made better by covering them all in a sea of white. I wouldn't use them at all.

Can you post a pic of the chairs and the cover so we can see the options?

Would weather be a factor? If you are getting married in the rainy season maybe factor in whether the covers would get wet? this may not apply, just a thought

I'm honestly not a fan of chair covers. We just decided to put the money towards nicer chairs. I hate getting my heels caught up in them.

Chair covers certainly aren’t necessary, but if your set on them— absolutely reception over ceremony. I’ve only ever seen them for receptions, never the ceremony, and certainly never outside. I think they would look out of place outside

I, like PP, don't care for chair covers and don't think they're necessary. However, if you really want them, I would say reception over ceremony especially if the ceremony is outdoors.

I personally don't like chair covers but if I had to chose I would say reception. That is where they will be sitting the longest.

I don’t have any pics specific, the chairs are the brown folding and they are typical white chair covers. I have this pic though! Obviously the area needs some decorating lol

The more I think about it the weirder I think they would look outside, thanks for the knot!

Thanks for posting. Like others said I think cover covers outside/ceremony may look even more odd. At least these blend into the dirt/trees. For the ceremony, I would NOT add anything to the chairs (even on the aisle side of chairs like bows). I would do beautiful florals on the arch to draw attention there. Perhaps ask the venue to clean up the aisle (part grass, part dirt, all uneven?) and consider flower petals on aisle to draw the the eye up to the floral arch/couple. The chairs will disappear into the background. 👍😃

Does Not need to be cover

You will be outside for short time only.

Trust me people will not care at all
