Ceremony this year, vow renewal/reception next year??

We are doing our minimony in a week and our big wedding is March 2021. We are still doing all of the traditional things at the big wedding (ceremony, vows, bridal party etc). We are only inviting about 30 people to our minimony so we will recreate everything in March so everyone can see and be a part of it!

I'm doing my mini ceremony in 10 days. We decided to just have our reception next year. I don't want to do vow renewals only 8 months later.

We are only doing our Ceremony this year. We are live streaming it so that we don’t have to do any type of ceremony next year.


We are doing a big reception next year with all of our guests. We just want to celebrate and have fun next year. Plus like someone else said, I think a year out is too close for a vow renewal.

Hi Lisa! You could do a quick unity ceremony instead of a vow renewal? I also think having guests arrive straight to cocktail hour actually works really well!

We are doing the ceremony next year essentially the same as for our minimony this year, that way friends and family who didn't get to see it will be able to. I guess technically it is a vow renewal since we will have already said our vows and will be married, but the ceremony will still look and feel like the initial wedding ceremony.
