Ceremony Limo Exit Pictures

Teresa, on April 23, 2019 at 10:59 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 3

Hello!

I'm not doing a staged exit at the reception. Instead, I wanted to have guests stick around after the ceremony and watch my FH and I run to the limo outside the church...old school photo opportunity.

I know that my family will likely do this on their own since there's about an hour and a half between ceremony and cocktail hour but i'm not sure what his family will do. Also, I don't want guests missing the planned receiving line during cocktail hour because they arrived too early.

Any ideas on how to politely communicate with guests to stick around after the ceremony?

This is what we did (and is fairly standard procedure at most weddings I've attended lol). Our officiant announced it near the end of the ceremony when mentioning the reception to follow. As he was doing his talk before the pronunciation of the couple, he said something like "as we exit today, the couple hopes you will stick around to shower them with love...and bubbles...as they make their grand exit and lead the way to the reception." and used that to flow right into "it is my pleasure to introduce to you..." etc.

    Hi there Teresa!

I love Melissa's suggestion! Ask the officiant to include it at the end before the announce the newly married couple! I feel this is a super straight forward way of ensuring that everyone stays after the ceremony for the photo opp.

Do you think this is something that would work for your guests?
