Ceremony Fee Rip Off?

One of the venues we are looking at has a $300 ceremony fee for the half hour ceremony. It incluces set up and breakdown of chairs (we will have 40-50 guests). Is this crazy? I don't know must about wedding prices etc so input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for all the responses Smiley smile

We are looking at another venue that doesn't charge a fee for the ceremony, but the food prices will be more than the place that charges for $300, so we really just need to evaluate our priorities.

Just depends on the area you are in. I live in a small city in Indiana. There is no fee for our church (because we're members). Another place that we're looking at (a BEAUTIFUL park) is $50 for 2 hours. If we were including chairs, we would have to go 4 hours, so the rate would be $100, and we would be responsible to rent chairs or bring them on our own. One other place is an outdoor gazebo, and the price for that is $200.
