Ceremony and cake reception

A.L.S., on October 9, 2016 at 11:58 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

Hi everyone , unfortunately my fiancé and I don't have family here . Our guest list is 15 ppl and because of that we found a venue who does a ceremony and cake reception to follow . We will be doing champagne cake mini quiches and a cheese cracker and meat platter . After that we will be renting a room at a restaurant to have dinner . How do I word this on an invitation ?

If it were me I would say something like:

Ceremony with appetizers at X venue (with address). Dinner reception to follow at X restaurant (with address).

However, I looked into this and looks as though it is recommended to have a separate card in addition to the invitation for the dinner.

    This might help you:

What you are describing sounds like a cocktail hours before dinner.

With only 15 people, you can just put the start of the ceremony time on the invite, maybe stated "champagne celebration/cocktail hour to follow"

Then I would call you restaurant day dinner "reception" and invite them such as.

Only list your ceremony on the actual invite, and then make an insert with all of the info regarding the punch reception/dinner reception
