Ceiling draping

I’m looking for ideas on how to drape this ceiling. Our hall is in an L shape with the head table at the bottom. Ive been told starting with a circle in the middle and going out is harder- but looks nicer. If we went side to side, I feel like it would be easier but I don’t know how it would look going into the bottom right of the L shape as there will be people seated there as well.
Thoughts? Pictures would also help!

Are you just draping to accent or to completely cover?
The center thing sounds very difficult. You would just continue with striping in the same direction when you hit the L shape.

The ceiling is older drop tiles. They don't look very appealing to the eye. So it doesn't have to completely cover the ceiling but at least distract so you're not looking at the drop tiles.

Hey Jeanine! Welcome to the WeddingWire community Smiley smile

Are you planning on draping this ceiling yourself? Or working with a vendor on it?

So please excuse my terrible drawing, but what about doing something like the Pinterest images below, starting in the right-hand corner and then continuing out? I hope this makes sense!

You could have them closer together to cover the ceiling if you wish, or leave gaps if you don’t mind them peeking through!

These ideas are super cute. I found some pictures of how others I know have decorated at our hall. I think if the ceiling were higher, it would look nicer. When we stop in at the hall in a couple weeks we are going to measure but the ceilings are only about 9' tall.

We are planning on purchasing some relatively inexpensive Sheer Voile to make into "curtains" to drape the walls with.
With Christmas style lights between the ceiling draping and the ceiling itself, I don't plan on having many of the lights on.

I also found picture of how one of my peers did her ceiling. It would be more work but I think it would look nicer with the christmas lights?

I'm kind of torn but in the end, I think either with more "full" coverage of the ceiling would look nice with some cute lighting.
I'm probably just over thinking it.
