Catholic wedding ceremony

Arnella, on December 6, 2019 at 1:22 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5
So, we’re getting married in Florida, and my question is, can I do the prep course in a different church/state than were the ceremony will be held?

I'd ask your officiant about this.

Usually if the couple is from another state, then the diocese that you’re getting married in wants paperwork that the couple are practicing Catholics and sometimes need paperwork of baptism and acts of sacraments. Also, depending on availability, you want to have 6 months to have all the paperwork and go through the classes for ceremony.

You would have to call and ask the parish that you're getting married at!

My brother and his wife did their preparation in Florida and got married at a church in Indiana. I would verify with the church that your ceremony is going to be held at but any pre-cana prep should be sufficient. My husband and I were "prepared" at a different church than the one we married at.

Definitely double check with the church! The church my sister and her FH Married in was able to accommodate them and their long distance relationship and the fact that they were going to be getting married in a different area. The church we’re getting married in would not!
