Catholic Rehearsal who attends / is invited

HLW to HLV, on November 2, 2015 at 10:26 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

Help me here, for a Catholic Mass rehearsal who should I invite? Obviously the bridal party and all readers. Who else? Parents? Grandparents? Who am I missing?

The gift bearers? ring bearer, flower girls? ushers/escorts? parents and grandparents, bridal party, and readers (as you mentioned).

You don't need to invite anyone else except maybe parents and in laws. But parents aren't necessary either because when they get to the ceremony they will be seated by the groomsman. ETA: flower girl and ring bearer. I brought them in because they presented the gifts!

For the actual rehearsal? We're only having the people involved in the ceremony. Bridal party, readers, gift bearers, parents, etc. You might want to invite your eucharistic ministers, but honestly they should know exactly when to go up for their part as that is similar to a regular mass. We're inviting other close relatives to the rehearsal party after though.

I think for a catholic mass wedding, a rehearsal is a really good idea because the ceremony is long and more complicated than most weddings.

Parents and grandparents. Siblings if not in the wedding party. Ushers, ring bearer and family, flower girl and family. The priest or deacon - if you don't know him very well he probably won't attend but it's a nice gesture.

ETA: I missed the part about this being for rehearsal only, duh. Bridal party and SOs, parents, readers, ushers.

From my understanding, they're the same as any other. Invite immediate family (grandparents, parents, siblings and children) bridal party, readers, escorts/greeters and officiant. Invite OOT if you choose.

We had all bridal party along with readers and gist givers. My priest however didn't actually have the gist givers or readers go through their part of the mass. I felt bad for making them come

I just had my BP and FIL and MIL go to the rehearsal. Our priest said it wasn't necessary for our gift givers to attend.

For a catholic rehearsal with the priest you only need to invite people who are doing something so they know what to do. For my friend who I was bridesmaid for there was the bride, groom, bridesmaids, best man/groomsmen, father of the bride and her mother in law happened to be there helping to decorate the church at the time. The priest will generally prompt the readers and gift givers in the mass so they will be fine. You can always ask your priest if you are unsure.

Haha, my priest isn't even coming to the rehearsal because Thursdays are his day off. Otherwise ushers, bridal party, parents because they want to, and readers.
