Are you asking for recommendations? This isn't very clear.

It will be difficult to find catering for less than $10 pp. I would recommend looking into local BBQ, Italian, or Mexican restaurants.

I’ve seen other people post on here about Mexican, bbq, or Italian restaurants being $10pp for catering. Not sure where you’re located though because where I live you can’t even get bbq that cheap.

Where are you doing that? I’m not sure if where I’m located anywhere does a taco buffet but that sounds really good

It depends on where you are located. Our wedding is in North Carolina and for the rehearsal dinner, we are hosting about 35 people and it still came out to be around $700 after taxes and plastic plates/keeping the food warm. It broke down to about $12 a head.

I am in small town MN so i totally get that prices will vary. I contacted a local Mexican restaurant and just asked if they did a taco bar and sure enough they did! (The place is kind-of like a Qdoba or Chipolte type place) But were getting tacos with all the fixings with rice for $2.50 a person

Our first thought was to just cook the tacos ourselves and i costed that out at about $450 for the 250 people but ultimately found the idea too stressful lol. But honestly in your case cooking for 40 wouldn't be bad at all if you had family to help out!!

There's a barbecue place here that can do around $10 pp, but you really want to make sure you know what you're getting for that price. That's if you pick it up yourself. Delivery and setup cost not a lot more, but more. Staying and doing cleanup costs more still. Self catering is possible for that.
