Is it bad that the first thing that came to mind was McDonalds $1 menu?

Cut your guest list or make it a point to save more money.

Try contacting an Italian pizza place. There are a few in our area that will do trays of baked ziti, stuffed shells or other non-meat pasta dishes for between $75-100 for 50 people. You'd need to go another $30-40 for salad and then bread and your beverages.

So, does your $2/person include silverware? napkins" cups" plates? all that costs money. Save up to at least $1000 and you can do something really nice. Even if you self-cater, you want it to be nice. This is a wedding, after all Smiley smile

If you do self-cater, order trays of sandwiches from the supermarket, make a bunch of cold pasta dishes, do some salads, keep it simple and not a lot of hot food. You can do it for less (probably $500 or so) but not any cheaper.

    W h o a . . .

that is not possible no matter where you live. my husband and i cant even have dinner for the TWO of us for $100.

but even cooking yourself (which i absolutely would never recommend) - $2 a PERSON?

i was going to say maybe you should just have a cake... but you can't get that for $2 a person either... :o(

A large pot of ramen noodles. Have toppings that go along with them. Could go with freeze dried/frozen vegetables. Sprinkle with parsley for color. Could also go with peanut butter and jelly. You might be able to pull off hotdogs with the walmart house brand and the cheap buns. Could find bulk potato chips as well. You could go with a junk food wedding, hot dogs, ramen and chips.

Okay, so keep open mind here, but with my venue, I need to keep my wedding under 50 people because it's a small place. So I'm just having family and very close friends. With that said, the people closest to you are not going to judge you for what you serve.

Personally I'm picking up fifteen $5 Little Ceasar pizza's, a few bottles of pop, some iced tea and coffee. Plus we'll have the cake!

The pizza and drinks are all costing me under $100 because we are doing it ourselves. And honestly, who doesn't like pizza? Everyone I've talked to at my wedding loves the idea. Laid back and casual.

You *might* be able to pull off a taco bar for around $300 for 100 people. I'm talking store brand shells, not-so-lean ground beef on super sale, store brand everything. Just get taco sauce packets from Taco Bell. Aldi would be the best bet for everything else probably.

That probably sucks to hear, but if you've got a budget and want the people there, this could be one of your cheapest options!!

Also, if you or FH have a birthday coming up between now and the wedding, consider asking for gift cards to wherever you will cater from (even if it IS Aldi, they have giftcards!!!) This could help offset your cost.

Also, Sam's for Cake. Sheet cakes the only way you'll feed 50-60 people cake affordably too. You'd spend $40-60 just on sheetcakes.
