Umm depends on what you feed them... Through an actual caterer no... Your cake alone will cost more than that.

Chicken on sale is like 2$ a lb.... So that's like 2$ a person

You might be able to get by with little sandwiches and finger foods

I think you need to either cut your guests down or put things off an save some money. You are talking under 2,00 per person.

You probably could do dessert and punch? You might have to make a lot of it, though.

Who is catering? Are you doing the food yourself? A lot of caterers charge a service fee, so I'm not sure it's possible to find someone to do food for that little.

If you are doing the food yourself, you may be able to scrape by with a $300 to $400 budget. It'll be a bit of work, but you can buy large pans of food from bulk, warehouse stores, if you are a member. If not, plan different meals (or appetizer combos), see which ones are cheapest, and look for coupons and in-store savings. The day and time you go grocery shopping can also impact price.

Remember, preparing food takes a lot of time and effort, so that's also something to consider.

Maybe if you catered the whole thing and did deserts...

Even if you cater it yourself, it will not happen. I was a caterer; I know this.

When was the last time you even fed yourself for 2 bucks?

You might be able to find cheap catering at 8-10 a plate but that wouldn't be a lot of food. Just finger food or small stuff.

No way. even with fast food, LOl except if you are planning to serve pizza and soda at the wedding. 50 people will cost more than that. As for real catering at least 20 dollars a plate. which surpasses that budget

Not possible. I'm having 50-60 people and my caterer is 15.95 a plate, so right around $1000 for two entrees buffet style and real china and flatware. That is best price I found.

No. Cut the guest list to your IMMEDIATE family (like 6), get married at the courthouse and have lunch.

I only say $300 to $400, because I have a huge family, and we usually can do bimonthly family dinners for under $400. But, this does not include servingware of any kind or dishes. We also usually have tea, water, or lemonade. (Some people bring their own drinks.) A few of my relatives have gardens, so we don't have to purchase all ingredients (but that, of course, depends on the time of year).

If you have relatives who will contribute, then you definitely may be able to do it for less than $500. However, know that this will be extremely casual dining. Also, I forgot that where you live also determines how much you'll spend. Cost of living is relatively low where I live. So, there's that to consider too.

One more thing, is this lunch or dinner? Lunch is cheaper. I'd suggest lunch.

You could do Mexican dinner for about 130ish. Beef and cheese enchiladas with Spanish rice and beans. That doesn't include drinks, utensils, pans, plates, whatnot. That's just raw food materials based on Walmart grocery prices.

They also have a regular sale at H.E.B for seasoned leg quarters (chicken) that is 1$ per lb. They come with 4 legs per package and a package is from 3.60-4 $ depending on the size of the leg. So if you were in the Texas area (or wherever else H.E.B might be) you could get the chicken for half the budget and then do something with the other half.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
