Catchy rhyme for new invitations after postponing wedding

Monica, on March 22, 2020 at 3:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

I am not happy about sending out new invitations. My first invitations were BEAUTIFUL I spent a lot of time on them (it took me a week to DIY about 60 invitations). Also the postage (I spent about $40 just on stamps). I am not wanting to redo them, they wont be fancy. I DONT want to send separate save the dates, I DONT want to sent out rsvp cards I want it one and done! And I want it to be via text/email/facebook (all e-invites) except for the select few family members that arent very reachable by phone or social media. Even though it might be more work I would rather reach out to people individually and also individually rsvp OR use the website (but LOTS of ppl had trouble rsvping using our wedding wire website).

Im not fully sure what our new date is yet but I NEED to do something to distract me. The lack of DIY and lack of wedding planning all of a sudden is making me feel lost! So I am checking out templates for the new invitations and I came up with a catchy phrase to use in our invites. . .

Recent unforeseen circumstances have been very upsetting

Because of this we postponed our wedding,

Let’s try again, please save our new date

We kindly ask you to come celebrate!

I have almost reached out to everyone to let them know everything has been cancelled for now since the wedding was in 2 weeks. As of right now our new date available is October 3rd. but not sure if we can get something sooner. Now the issue comes up that if I do these all in one (save the date + invitation) when do I send them? I would like to send them sooner than later but if I do that I would like to follow up with people and remind them like a month before ( maybe follow up to remind and give them 2 weeks to rsvp?)

I just had an idea. Ive never used Facebook events before but maybe i can do that on Facebook so its easier than private message for everyone.

Does anyone know if Facebook gives reminders before the event?

We changed from June 27th to August 7th.

I mentioned online invites to FH and he's totally hooked (we need easy right now!) and getting the last few email addresses that we need. We are also tackling the older people by having their kids or relative rsvp for them - we just made family invitations (Grandma tacked onto the invite for her daughter's family). **There are free sites too - such as Greeting Island - imagine totally free invites and you can change anything for zero cost. Then there's Greenvelope and Paperless post to name a few that have costs. I like Greenvelope's organization but it will cost me about $70; they count per person, not per invite.** Most online sites let you use your own artwork, so you could use any artwork that you want and use their portal to keep everything organized. Bliss!

Greeting Island - the free site. It costs $6 to download and own your own customized copy (without watermark) of their design and you can go back customize it more and download it again, as often as you want - at no extra charge. So invitations can match save the dates. You can then email it, DIY it for those few older relatives or for a keepsake for yourself, use it as an online invite, post to social media ... whatever... Smiley smile

If my August date falls through I can even make an elopement announcement! I chose Greeting Island for my invitation design (with modified fonts) and Greenvelope for delivery and tracking. Smiley smile

I considered greenvelope but the problem is I dont have a massive list of everyone’s emails. And not sure if everyone is current on checking their email. So I made the invitation that i posted ^^ up there from zazzle. Im sending a picture of it via text message and I decided im going to set up a Facebook event for those that have Facebook so ppl can rsvp there, FB will send a reminder if they put it on their calendar, and i can still reach out to ppl if i need to.

This is mine. It doesn't really feel summery, but I love it. I had save the dates done at minted, but they are only offering 25% off for a reprint of the same design. And I want a new one.

My wedding is in August and is a destination wedding.

Really pretty. The flowers look like summertime to me, matches for August. Our colors are ivory gold and purple so I went purple flowers this time. My original invitations were white with glitter gold and purple ribbon w a gold/rhinestone ribbon belt.

I used Canva. If you can figure it out theres ways to get around paying for the "upgrades". I did my entire inviation suite using it. printed it out myself on cardstock using Google Docs and for measurements, had my mother-in-law use her cutter to cut them.

    Paid for:

    thicker cardstock- walmart

envelopes- hobby lobby (some were on clearance for .99)

envelope seals- hobby lobby (clearance for .99)

    Stamps- post office
