I caught the bouquet at my best friend's wedding. Have any of you caught a bouquet previously?

I caught the bouquet at FH's nephew's wedding (complicated/weird family situation, the nephew is the same age as me). His wife literally looked over her shoulder, found where I was standing, and beamed it at me. We got engaged almost exactly a year later! I didn't set any store by it or anything. I knew we'd get engaged when the time was right. I'm not going to do one myself.

I caught the bouquet at a friends wedding and my FH caught the garter! We went to the wedding as friends, started dating 2 months later and we got engaged 2.5 years later! So it was kinda perfect for usSmiley smile

I've caught the bouquet on every attempt I've ever made. I was at 7 bouquets by the time I started refusing to participate. I have agreed to throw a bouquet at our wedding, for FH, but we are going to wrap a $20 bill around it and toss to all ladies, single or otherwise, and tell them first round at the after party is on us. I'll never single out the singles like I was a million times.

@LynZLeigh that's such a great idea. I love the, not singling people out, idea.

I only had one single girl at my wedding (the girlfriend of DHs friend). I should have flung it straight at her face. Her boyfriend would have died.

I caught one at my girlfriends wedding and got married next. The girl who caught mine (in the picture below) is getting married next in Oct. Maybe there's something to it.

I caught the bouquet at my friends wedding a few months ago. I didn't want to go out on the floor because I was already engaged, but I got dragged out :/

I also didn't try to catch it but it was thrown right at me and nearly hit me in the face lol

The last wedding I was in, the flower girl attached herself to my hip the night of the rehearsal dinner. I had never met her before and she was so attached to me the minister mistook her for my daughter.

She was dead set on catching that bouquet, but I told her no. If she caught it I would have to wait until she grew up and got married, and I really wanted to get married before that.

I didn't catch the bouquet, but as soon as it was caught and people were walking away, little Sammi snatched the bouquet from the woman who did catch it and ran it across the reception hall to me.

Her mother ran after her mortified and obviously I gave it back.

I caught one at my cousins wedding years ago(like when I was 7) and her younger sisters wedding three years ago. Her brother was standing next to my H(then bf) and had a giant smile on his face as he was pointing to him! lol

I never did but I wouldn't even lineup to try. I don't really care for it.

I have always been a good sport and participated in bouquet tosses. I haven't been to a wedding with a toss in at least 4 years though, and we go to several weddings a year. I think they're for younger crowds. I actually caught the bouquet at my friend Jessica's wedding (I was a bridesmaid) back in 2011! We were 22 and freshly out of college. This was about 9 months into my relationship with now-DH. One of the groomsmen caught the garter. The super awkward part of this photo that no one looking at it would know or realize is that the guy who taught the garter was actually an ex-boyfriend!! We dated about 4 months my senior year of college but we were involved for awhile after we broke up. Today, we are still in the same circle of friends - he's actually a godfather to one of Jessica's kids - and he is now married also, but at the time he was single and definitely wanted to get back together, or at least back in bed haha.

ETA: I didn't get married for 5 more years so there is zero truth to the "next married" thing lol

Also, added one of my fav pics of me and DH, from this wedding!

@robin G, my friends and I did that at a wedding a few years ago. Luckily there was a cousin that was eager to catch it or it would have fallen too.

I caught the bouquet at my FSIL's wedding because I mouthed "throw it to me" before she tossed it. FH and I weren't engaged then, 6 months later we were.

I'm not doing one at mine because the only people that would be out there would be his two weird cousins and my little sister and I'm not putting my sister through that.
