Casino gaming tables at the reception?

Elizabeth, on September 19, 2019 at 5:38 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10
What do y'all think of having casino gaming tables at the reception? Not many of our guests are big dancers; they'll sit and appreciate music, but not dance. Plus, all of my finance's family members love card games. We were thinking of maybe poker and blackjack with fake money and some prizes? I just don't want it to come off as tacky. All opinions welcome! TIA Smiley smile

This is an awesome idea! We used to have fake gambling at my high school dances, it was very popular. One of my friends had a company come to his house with 4 or 5 tables for his 21st birthday. It was really fun to learn the games and gamble without spending money!

I had a table at my reception of just random little games like trivia and cards. Some people use it.

I've been to parties and fundraisers that have game tables. They are usually a big hit! I'm not sure I would do poker because of the intensity and duration but craps, roulette, and blackjack are the big draws at the events I have attended. I think this would be a great idea.

Elizabeth, what have you decided? I've been thinking about having casino games also. I do have family that do like to game plus I have been leaning towards a late winter wedding.

Hi Kim! We haven't really decided yet. It's still on our list of things we're interested in, but it's low on the priority list. We're doing a June 2021 wedding so we still have some time to figure it out. I think if we have the money, we'll go for it!

They are so much fun at a wedding. I've seen them at two weddings now and guests had a great time. Not everyone is into the dancing and for them, a wedding can sometimes almost be painful, even worse if they come as a come and one person loves to dance and the other not at all. This is like the perfect solution, but the dealers do have to be able to teach people how to play. I saw a lot of the kids at one wedding playing too and I thought what a great way to keep them involved and not running around. They two I saw used funny money with pictures of the couple in $1,000 bills. One gave everyone money when they walked in the other just had money at the tables and both worked out fine. I think almost everyone played at some point, of course, once the dancing kicked in they thinned out, but still, a lot of people were really having fun both times - like one of the posters on another thread, Erica said, they were the most fun weddings I've been too. At the end there were prizes of some sort, I didn't really pay attention to what happened.

An interesting idea about having gaming tables in the casino at the reception desk. But I think that at the wedding it is not quite appropriate, because I know that even among my friends at the wedding there were a lot of gamblers. I know it would distract them from the celebration. My husband is also a gambler, but he does not like to play in front of other people and prefers to use online casinos. Very often I watch my husband sits on this site, which looks through information about 50 free spins bonus without deposit 2020. Often bragging about his winnings and the fact that the site gives him all the necessary information before the game. Probably if his friends started playing card games at his wedding, he would not resist joining this entertainment. At the time of our wedding was insanely worried and I think that we just would not have had the strength to still organize, something like a casino at our celebration.

The casino gaming tables at the reception idea from 2019 still holds up!
