Casino Game(s) during reception?

Sarah, on May 12, 2020 at 2:22 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7
Hello everyone! So I have been trying to come up with ideas to make my wedding unique and saw someone mention they had a black jack table. I love the idea but my mother hates it. I'm just trying to come up with a way to make my wedding different and have an activity for those who won't want to dance (my fiance himself isnt even much of a dancer as well as his family). Plus I have been to weddings where I've been bored out of my mind. I was curious on others thoughts of it?

Check offbeatbride.com for ideas. Usually guests are more than happy to mingle if they don't dance but every group is different.

I would offer some interactive food stations (pasta bar, s’mores and fancy coffee bar for dessert). Guests are most interested in food and stations will be fun & help them mingle. Maybe a photo booth? Even if DIY it could be fun. But it’s not like weddings need entertainment. Personally I’d find a casino game table weird unless the entire wedding was themed that way.

We thought about having a casino theme wedding as far as doing different games. We got pricing for a black jack table, roulette, and slot machines along with attendants. We also priced out a cigar roller. It added too much to our already costly expenses so we decided against.
It’s a great idea though. Why was your mom against it?

I was looking to use Haiku Guys for our event, but I already had too much other entertainment that my husband said ‘no’. Hah. It’s basically these guys that come with old-school typewriters (and dressed the part!) and your guests can give them a word and they’ll create a haiku about that word. It’s a nice favor for guests to take home too. I’ve heard great things about them!

If you have friends or family members who like to play, I think it would be really fun.
