Have any of you been on a carnival cruise? If so where do you go, for how long, did you do shore excursions and do you think it was worth it? My fiance and I want to go for honeymoon but it looks like there are so many cool places to go I can't decide!

I've never been on a cruise, but FH and I are going on a 4-day Carnival cruise out of Los Angeles (to Catalina Island and Mexico) for our mini-moon at the end of March. Maybe we should've looked into the cruise lines better (granted, Carnival was the only one with the timing and departing port that worked for us) but now I'm concerned it'll be all spring break college kids on ours. Hopefully not.
Regardless, we're looking forward to it! I'm hoping for a positive experience. We've been reading up on all the excursions in Mexico and Catalina Island and are thinking of doing a dolphin excursion or a snorkeling excursion.
