Yesterday, I bought a cardboard box that I was all excited to decorate for our card box. When FH came home he said he loved the idea, but having a cardboard box hold our money just isn't a good idea. He said it's to easy for someone to take and run. Now, let me just explain that we both have...

Yesterday, I bought a cardboard box that I was all excited to decorate for our card box. When FH came home he said he loved the idea, but having a cardboard box hold our money just isn't a good idea. He said it's to easy for someone to take and run. Now, let me just explain that we both have multiple cousins/family members that have been incarcerated and our guest list is between 350-400 people (so a lot of people who could easily run off with it without anyone seeing). FH thinks we needs something heavy and something that can be bolted to the table?!?!? To me this sounds crazy. Anybody else heard of this? Oh, and I didn't want to spend $70 on a darn card box.

Hey, one thing to consider before putting your gifts/money envelopes in someone's vehicle.....the Valet guys have keys to the cars! And, smash and grabs are the #1 crime in many areas.

Consider all the possibilities. It is a happy, beautiful day for you, but an opportunity for someone else to commit a crime.

Having a friend or two "tag" the items and listen them on a "gift list" will also help keep everything in order. Good ideas everyone!

We don't have a valet, and yea I agree, put them in a TRUNK, so no one can see which car they are in!

Eek! I wouldn't put them in the car at all! Just this past weekend, while my FH and I were stopping for lunch at the safest little town in Wine Country, someone broke into our rental car and stole all of our luggage that we had in our trunk. My FH had an empty duffel bag in the back seat (apparently that was enough to entice someone to break into our car). Once they get in, they can easily pop the trunk. Plus, you never know if someone's watching you place your stuff in the trunk.

Mine will be a vintage suitcase with a box built to go inside out of wood ( with a slit in top for cards) and the box will be covered with sheet moss... so it will be very obvious if someone tries to get away with it...and easy for us to take away when we leave,,,and cute since i may have pictures taken of us carrying said suitcase as we leave... but definitely gonna use that brick idea if mine doesnt work out.. and definitely going to put the gift table near our table so FH ( a police officer ) and some of his buddies can keep an eye on it. hope everything works out for you!!

sort of like the picture except my suitcase is distressed leather, an everwear suitcase from the 60's/70's.. and awesome looking!! but thats the main idea
