Can't Decide Between Vendors

Cassie, on June 15, 2020 at 2:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
We are doing a destination wedding next year and planning to bring our own photographer. We are opting to exchange travel fees for pictures. Because of this cost of the vendor does not really matter as its all the same. We have talked to multiple photographers and have narrowed it down to two who fit our style and ability. They have similar years of experience as well. How did you choose when you really liked what two different vendors presented?

I was deciding between two different vendors for both photobooth and DJ and in the end i went with the one that was more expensive but he was a single vendor that could do both DJ and photobooth. so for me i went with convenience over pricing.

maybe you can ask them questions like how long will it take for you to get your product? any differences in costs at all?

We made our decisions based on face to face contacts and how our vibe went in person.

Not really. Because the cost is hotel and travel cost. The one might be a little more ($400) as they would have 2 photographers. However they also have their own in home print studio which could be nice. The other one said it would just be her, but she would have her husband do some amateur videography just for fun

Do you know of anyone that used the photographers and you can get their feedback?

Unfortunately no, we don't. We had posted in our states wedding vendor page so they aren't close to us or anyone we know who has been married. We did go on their web sites, Facebook pages, and here where we looked at reviews on vendor pages. I'm almost at the point where it's a coin flip!

Have you met them in person yet? This way you can see if you have a better vibe with someone that the other.

We also asked the photographers we interviewed if they have experience shooting at our venue and can we see the pictures.
It sounds like you have two great options and can’t go wrong with either.

I would choose the person I connect with better. They’re going to make you feel comfortable in your skin, which will will make you look better!

For me, it was about who was easiest to work with. All our vendors are exceptional with customer service and that proved to be even more beneficial when we had to postpone. Most wedding vendors are really good at what they do so most times you cant go wrong there but read their reviews and see if they answer emails quickly, are they flexible, stuff like that. Also we turned down one photographer cause she was so pushy and was more interested in her ideas than ours.
