Cannot decide on end of September or end of October wedding date in Connecticut

I'm looking for a bit of advice. I have found a wonderful farm venue with September 29th or October 27th available. It will be a tented wedding reception with cocktail hour outside or in a barn. I'm looking for a bit of advice. I have found a wonderful farm venue with September 29th or October 27th available. It will be a tented wedding reception with cocktail hour outside or in a barn. I am torn because I know October is cooler and there may still be leaves on the tree but I also worry it will be too cold for guests to hang outside and enjoy the farm. I feel like the weather in September would be more promising. Would I still be able to get away with a "fall" themed wedding the end of September. Any advice would be helpful!!

September 29th is perfect! It is already fall too.

I think Oct 27th may be too late for leaves and may be cold with possible snow at end of October.

The official start of Fall is in September so I would say having a fall-themed wedding in September would be perfect! Plus, I think the weather would be better in September than late October.

You can definitely pull off a Fall theme in september and the weather is much more promising then. I went to a wedding the first weekend in October (in Massuchussetts) 2 years ago and it was soooo uncomfortably cold!!!! This year October has been unusually warm, but honestly you never know!

You definitely can get away with a fall wedding at the end of September! Plus the weather won't be as chilly.

Oh hey, I'm in CT too! I'm absolutely in love with the idea of a fall New England wedding. My FH and I had originally picked 10/10/2020 as our date, but decided to change it because we'll be at the end of our PhD program and therefore be busier during the fall semester. As someone who grew up with the New England weather, I would recommend late September over late October, because the weather is so much more unpredictable at the end of October and that's some extra stress that you probably don't want. It'll also be a bit warmer in September, which will make it more comfortable when you're taking those beautiful farm wedding photos!

I'd go with September. The weather is a bit more reliable. October in CT is so unpredictable. Remember a few years ago when we had that massive snow storm a few days before Halloween?

I'm very biased. FH and I sweat alot so we want the weather to be nice and cold

It could literally be snowing at the end of October. There's a definite chance of getting on of those "weird" snowstorms that happen every couple of years at that time. The end of September is definitely fall, even though it may not be peak foliage time.

I think September 29 is the perfect Date-I'm a little biased because that's my date Smiley smile

But I am considering it fall because it is after the first day of fall and I think it's the perfect weather!

You can totally do fall in September...think back five years to Snowtober. October. I was in Woodstock, in a barn. It snowed like four feet.....the band never even made it there.

    Go for Sept.
