I've tossed the idea back and forth. I still have tons of time to decide, but at this point I don't know. I think it would be a fun idea that would double as the favors, but our reception is on a yacht, so I don't know if it would work as far as logistics and set up.

Totally, I love candy buffets, everybody loves candy, its cheap, DIY, and you can literally buy as many varieties as you want from like Sam's Club or Costco and its cheap as hell! Can you tell I'm eating M&M's right now?

I am excited to do one but it definitely isn't a must have for most people. I wanna do stuff like caramel popcorn and white chocolate pretzels. I also want to include some type of mints for practical after dinner usage. Everything will be white and green.

I say yes! It can double as your favor and they are SUPER easy (I think!). I got all my jars, my candy bags, and a little sign which says "All you need is love… and candy" for under $100. That leaves us $100 for candy and I KNOW we can get all our candy for that. We might get some clearance candy after easter (not chocolate probably, as that does not have as long a shelf life).

We are doing an ice cream bar because FH and I don't care for cake. So we are only doing our wedding cake and instead of having a grooms cake we are doing ice cream. Our toppings will include: Oreos, m&ms, butterfingers and cookie dough bites.

I really wanted to do one, but we're thinking it'll just be too expensive. We have a lot of time to save up and think about making it work though.

I am having one. But I got all glass apothecary jars and will be having all the candy be in my wedding colors like Lindt truffles, jelly bellies, chocolate covered pretzels, different gummies, salt water taffy, chocolate covered Oreos, etc.

Needless to say, it's around $200 for the jars and $450-500 for candy but I think it's worth it.

It doesnt have to be expensive, you can get cheap glass containers from a craft store, tie some bows or things around them in your wedding colors, and just buy bulk candies like M&Ms, PB cups, gummies, really wahtever you want. And then just get some clear plastic bags(or personalized ones if you have the &dollarSmiley winking

If you have KIDS at your wedding, NO CANDY BAR and NO CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN. They stick their grubby bare hands into the jars/chocolate and it is beyond disgusting. Sorry, but I have seen it first hand and it is a total disaster.

We are having one, I got my huge apothecary jar set, and tongs and scoops for $200 on Craigslist. I figure $150 or so on the candy and we are set.

No candy bar here. To us, it's just an added expense that we really don't want to spend money on. I think they're awesome, don't get me wrong, but we don't want to put out the extra money.

@GrayCatVintage: OMG, the chocolate fountain! I was telling the kids in my class today about them, they were talking about the ones at the local Golden Corral. They didn't realize that kids (and even adults, I've seen it) will go so far as to stick hands, bitten-on food, or even FACES into the chocolate. I think I grossed out an entire class of high schoolers.

Yes candy for me! It is cheaper than paying the venue for catering lol. Plus we have tons of gummies.
