Originally, I was just going to find an alternative to flower bouquest. However, my budget expanded a bit and I realized that I really want a bouquet for at least myself. I have 7 bridesmaids though so I may not be able to get a bouquet for each bridesmaid. Would it look awkward to have the bridesmaids alternate between bouquest and a candle? The wedding will be outside at dusk so I think the candles would look cool. I've already checked with the venue and they'll allow the candles.

I was thinking about candles as well. But since I am doing a winter/Christmas theme, I also saw a really nice light up snowflakes (our save the dates have a snowflake on them as will our invitations and thank you cards) or I will do white fur muffs (I think they will look nice against the blue I chose. I am doing a bouquet only for myself and my MOH (to differentiate her from the BMs)

I love the idea! you can put the candles in glass cylinders and that takes care of worrying about them going out. I'd either do all with candles or without. Then just you have the bouquet.

Have you considered lanterns as a compromise? I'm using them with LED candles for safety purposes. I thought about really pretty candles then figured that could be a very bad idea lol.

Have you thought about having single flower "bouquets" for your bridesmaids?

@NusAG: Lanterns would be a great compromise. Honestly, I'm still at the brainstorming stage. I definitely wouldn't want to do anything that my bridesmaids would be uncomfortable with. Also don't want to set the venue on fire...

@Flower Child: I think a single rose might work great!

I'm going to play around with some of these ideas this weekend and talk to my BMs and mother about them

I think it would look nice with a candle at night!

Did you ever think of doing fake flowers? It saved me A LOT of money!

How about a single flower with a bow on it for each of the girls? or even a single hydrangea since they're bushy and look big?
