Hello everyone, I've been looking at different options for my reception tables and I can decide whether I should use LED candles or real candles. LED Pros: no dripping wax to clean up, smokeless, not a fire hazard. Cons: looking fake. What did you use or are planning to use? And if you have pics of how they looked on your big day that would be awesome. Thanks for the feed back.

Thank you for your feedback. That is a good idea to do a fake set up with both. I've been trying to find pictures that show them both side by side. But I think you made a good choice going the LED route with all the curtains, and things around.

Thank you Melle for your feedback. What happened tou didn't light the candles? I haven't even priced out real candles so I will do that next. I think I just assumed it would be more.

Thanks! We actually rented them from our florist so I have no idea where they came from, I’m sorry!

Thanks for the input. All this time and I had not even priced out the real candles. I thought they would be more bc they are real and in high demand. Thank you for reminding me to not make any assumptions. However, I do like the reuse factor too. I'm sure they come in handy all time.

We are doing real ones! Just feels more authentic and pretty. If your venue allows it I think you should definitely go for it!

I am using both. Bought LEDs for outside lanterns and potentially for the inside lanterns also since I don't want wax to get on the lanterns I want to resell. Haven't decided yet. I am using 6 hr burn tealights for my votive holders then.

I think fake ones are a bit safer. There are some realistic looking ones that flicker at Bed, Bath and Beyond and probably some on Amazon. My fiance's cousin actually bought us a set of LED candles that flicker and they looked so real that once we had a guest over and he was scared he almost burned his sleeve because his arm went right over the fake flame Smiley xd .

Also for my friends wedding, during his grand entrance he kicked over a candle which was inside a glass vase. Luckily it was LED so nothing caught on fire. Sometimes you never know! Its one less thing that can go wrong during your wedding Smiley laugh

I am using real candles. I just prefer the look and our venue allows it. I think my FH would prefer the led because he gets worried about a potential fire.

We are going to have an adult only reception...however the kids in the wedding will be there for a short time. However, definitely a good tip to keep in mind bc kids are tricky and we do not want any fires breaking out.

Yes one less worry world be great!!! I always wondered about the candles going down the aisle and a brides train getting too close. Well we aren't having any candles at the church so one less worry there. Also, I've seen the ones at bed, bath, and beyond but that's more then im looking to spend on 1 set. Thank you for your input though.

I like the look of the real candles also. I need to price out how much they would be bc I think its going to come down to the bottom line...cost. and candles are cheap but the votices and candle holders are prob what's going to pump up the prices. Thank you for your feedback.

I think I'm leaning towards real candles. Just have to see what the final numbers for pricing looks like. Thank you for your input.

I'm not sure of your budget but these are great quality and pretty cost effective. This is where I ordered ours from and the tea light burned clean and 10 hours when I trialed them at home. I also recommend freezing the candles holders when you are done and they can pop out real easily or you can remove them with a butter knife easily once frozen. Just in case you want to reuse or sell the holders. https://quickcandles.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=0&q=richland+candles&gclid=Cj0KCQjw4s7qBRCzARIsAImcAxZNY4cjYCHpA4fqC6WVFdmljOWDcP5e3SMVogeG7JjD1RIvaj6XuU8aAltPEALw_wcB

We did real candles for the centerpieces- I highly recommend going to Dollar Tree- and fake for the altar. The fireplace we're using as our altar will have lots of other items on it and we don't real candles up there.
