OK... I'm freaking out. I ordered my dress and veil at Kleinfelds in January...I was a bit pressured but had tried on many gowns elsewhere first. OK... I'm freaking out. I ordered my dress and veil at Kleinfelds in January...I was a bit pressured but had tried on many gowns elsewhere first. I gave them 60% which was close to $4000 dollars with the veil. I now found another dress at a small boutique trunk show that is better suited to me and can be rush ordered from Austrailia in time for my 9/25/15 wedding. My dress from Kleinfelds has not arrived yet but will anyday. I signed a contract but have not received the dress or had any fittings. Do I have any prayer of getting any or some of my money back???!!!! If it matters the other dress is cheaper and might only cost me another $1000 more (after the 40%) to have it rushed shipped etc. I am feeling crazy and desperate. Has anyone ever successfully gotten their deposit money back from Kleinfelds. HELP!!

I would have stopped looking after dropping 4K on a dress. There is no way I would throw away 4K.

I would have to put the remaining 40% down to actually have the dress to sell so that would be even CRAZIER.

Losing $4k on a dress that I wouldn't even receive at the end of the day is crazy. pay the rest of the balance and try to sell it on tradesy or another wedding site. you're bound to atleast get something for it.

Lisa, those are your two options. I doubt Klienfelds or any other salon will eat the loss because you had dress doubt.

My future sister in law put a deposit down on a dress. that night she had buyers remorse and the boutique really could have cared less. It's not just Kleinfelds, it's 99.9% of bridal salons. It's part of the business.

I DID stop looking but then Anna Campbell came out with her new collection and a boutique where I had tried on one of her designs emailed me her new collection and invited me to the trunk show. Prior to the kleinfeld purchase it was going to be that dress.....but I felt pressured and caved. It's my own fault....you guys are right. I'll make the call to kleinfelds be denied and be happy with my dress. I couldn't tell anyone else my problem. Thanks for listening Smiley smile

I don't think you'd be able to return it but maybe try giving them a call just to see. If not, you could try to resell it. Best of luck!

I would have stopped looking too. No one will know the dress you didn't get, they'll just know you look gorgeous.

Unfortunately their policy is no refunds. Either you pay the balance and take the dress, or you leave the dress and loss the $4k.

If it's in your budget, maybe you can order the dress you like now as a second dress? To be fair, I don't think you would be at this point in your wedding planning without having a dress ordered. There's always going to be new collections out after you buy your dress.

You might be further head walking away from the 4k then finishing paying for it to sell at a discount. In the long run you made out cheaper with deposit and new dress then buying the full dress. It's not so bad when you look at it that way.

Curious as to where you ended up with your decision. Are you able to provide an update?

I ordered mine from a small shop Monday, and Monday night instantly regretted it. Off the rack not ordered and they won’t even give my my deposit back😭😭😭😭 I get if it was ordered, but it’s OFF THE RACK and still in their store. It’s infuriating! I didn’t sign a contract, I just initialed the receipt. It’s BS!!!
