Can vendor accounts be hacked and send us messages?

Scary message received from a previously-messaged vendor. Can vendor accounts be hacked and send us messages? 1

This morning I received a message from a vendor I messaged during the planning phase of my wedding saying that they have my account information. The message goes on to say that I have a deadline to send them money... OR ELSE (lol). Is there any way to report this vendor/message to the admins? I've attached the message. I'm not taking this too serious but I wanted to get the word out there if others receive the same kind of message from other vendors.

Can you reach out to the vendor through social media to let them know? They probably have no idea they've been hacked and would appreciate the heads up!

I'd contact the vendor. It's likely the vendor was hacked and they have nothing on you. When in doubt change your password.

I received this exact email a couple years ago so this scam has been running for a while. It's good that you're not taking it seriously, but I'd echo PP's and say that you should contact the vendor. I don't think you need to worry about changing your password because I don't think you were hacked, your vendor was. But, if it makes you feel better then by all means.

Thanks for the heads up Darcy! We've reached out the vendor and told them to reset their password and check their email for a virus.

Your account information is totally fine, but definitely don't click on anything in that message or send them any money!
