Can I combine my reception and accommodations card?

Danielle R., on April 10, 2010 at 7:01 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

I'm doing my own reception & accommodations cards by printing onto business cards. But I had a thought... could I do the reception information on one side of the card & then the accommodations info on the other side? Is it bad etiquette to have one card serving both purposes? Or will people even think to look at the other side? What do you think?

I was thinking about doing this with my map, I thought about having the map on the front and then printing out the wording for the directions on the back but was wondering if people do that or if it would be okay.

I guess I'm just afraid that people wouldn't look at the other side of the card... do you think they'd think to flip it over?

They probably will. I mean a few might not but 90% will probably at least.

Put a cute little arrow and the bottom pointing to the right, they should know to flip it when there's an arrow....maybe? lol

Remember when we used to do that in middle/high school when we used to write notes to our friends...we would put a little arrow and have it pointing to the back, lol!!

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. But if you are hesitant to do it, you can always just put the information on your wedding site and then place the link on the card to direct people to go there for details pertaining to the wedding (directions, registry, etc.). That is what we have decided to do, but then again we didn't need reception cards b/c our ceremony and reception are in the same place.

ALL of my guests are out of state guests, since I recently relocated and I"m not going "home" for the wedding. I was stressed about the cost of printing invitations, RSVP's, accommodation cards, reception cards, not to mention the cost of postage. Since I am having very informal wedding, that reflects our unique personality, I thought, why not reflect that with the invitations. SO, I used VistaPrints.com and customized a really cute tri-fold brochure with my wedding colors. They came out PERFECT, and inexpensive to mail. My guests have enjoyed the uniqueness.

I do two sided cards all the time. Typically the lodging info is on one side, and the direction on the other. I have even seen some printing maps directly on the back of the invitation! Be Creative!

For my directions, I had the map on one side and the written directions on the other side. I am not concern whether people will see each side or not.
