Calling all pale/fair brides!

hannnnahhhh, on February 24, 2017 at 12:54 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 52

I am very fair (I call it porcelain, lol) with blonde hair and am afraid that an ivory or white dress will really wash me out more and make my veins in my chest and arms stand out. I've been thinking about a blush or Moscato wedding dress. Any pale brides out there wear white and it looked ok or had the same though?

From what I'm visualizing, a blush dress would look stunning.

I had the same fears until I tried dresses on. Most designers don't make a true white dress. My consultant told me that's because true pure white looks good on very few people. You will find a dress that compliments your skin tone, for sure!

I ended up with one that is called ivory but looks more white when it's next to a true ivory. Blush is beautiful but I think you'll find the same variation.

You'll have to try different colors on you to get the best sense of what flatters you most. I am super pale, but ivory looked totally fine. Pure white, however, really washed me out, but it's different for everyone.

Ivory will be better than white. Blush dresses are pretty too.

Another pale bride here (and I'm marrying a ginger, we are gonna need to invest in lots of sunscreen for our potential children) I went with a blush dress with ivory overlay

Pale-ass redhead here! I did a snow-white dress, which looks AMAZING against my red hair, instead of an off-white or ivory (which I don't like anyway).

My hair is much longer now and this picture makes it look not red, but here I am in it! And this was last Feb when my skin hadn't seen the light of day in 4 months because of winter lol.

I'm pale all the time, but I got married in January so extra pale. I wore white and it snowed so extra white. I liked the way I looked but others may not. Let me get a picture

My dress is called diamond white, other people have called it soft white. I tried a dress on that was labelled as white and it completely washed me out. I was considering a spray tan but a friend of mine got married last fall and she got a spray tan that looked really orange against her all white dress and she tans naturally in the summer. I've never really been tan so I think it would stand out even more against a white dress on me.

I'm pale and went with a dress called "ivory over nude" and also got an organic airbrush spray tan by a professional (I did a trial of it before the wedding). Attached is me on my wedding day. I literally told the airbrush lady to do a super light coat just so I don't match my dress.

I call it "glow in the dark" lol I feel like a blush dress would wash me out more since I have very pink undertones in my skin and get very flushed easily. try on a few different shades of dresses and find what works best for you, you may be surprised! Smiley smile

I'm as white as a ghost. Usually the lightest foundation color is too dark for me. The lace overlay on my dress is ivory, the rest is a light champagne. I think I look pretty ballin' if I do say so myself. It actually makes me look not as pale.

I'm also VERY pale. I tried white (yuck!), blush (eh), champagne (not good) and ivory. I think it's good to try a large variety of colors and see what looks and feels like your best color choice.

ETA: I went with ivory after I was certain I would go with a different color before I tried them on.

I am super pale and I am going with an ivory dress. I think ivory suits a lot of people. I am going to do a very light spray tan though.
