Calling All Country Music Fans!

Chris, on July 2, 2018 at 4:05 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 38

Country really is country-wide, isn’t it?! Smiley sexy

From city slicker transplants to homegrown loyalists, anyone can find a way to use some country music in their wedding reception! Whether it’s one dance or the whole playlist, country has a place on your dance floor! Smiley star

What country songs do you plan to use during your reception, and for what? Here are my top picks!

First dance: Your Everything by Keith Urban

Father-daughter dance: I Loved Her First by Heartland

Mother-daughter option: Somebody’s Hero by Jamie O’Neal

Mother-son dance: If I Didn’t Have You by Thompson Square

*BONUS POINTS* if you have ideas for a “get the party started” first dance for all guests and/or a “let’s wrap this up” last dance of the night song!

The only country song that I can remember being played was "Wagon Wheel" by Darius Rucker. One of our friends is a musician and has performed a cover of the song and it always reminds us of him. It was a little awkward to dance to, but everyone who knew it sang it at the top of their lungs.

    Country is country wide!!

I am walking down the aisle to "the long way" by Brett Eldredge
    - Recessional: "would you go with me" by Josh Turner
    - Reception entrance: "make a little" Midland
    - Cake cutting: "living the dream" Drake White
    - First dance: "when it comes to loving you" by Jon Langston
-Father/daughter is "sober" by Little Big Town (my dad is obsessed with that song)
-Mother/son and step dad/daughter (combined) is "humble and kind" by Tim McGraw,
-Anniversary dance is "love like crazy" by Lee Brice.

We'll also have mostly country music during dinner.

However, we're not dancing to country during the party part of the reception because in our experience it's a little more difficult to get the party started (compared to hip hop-type music)

Chantelle, you have an awesome lineup of songs! I hadn't thought of an anniversary dance, but Lee Brice will be perfect! Smiley heart

I was set on Dont Blink, but I am second-guessing it now, I'm 49 so I don't want any little girl Butterfly Kisses songs I think I'm too old for that so I'm having a hard time deciding.

We don’t really listen to country, but ironically our first dance was a country song. People were surprised lol. Anyway it was Then by Brad Paisley.

And "Waiting on a Woman" by Brad Paisley played before I came in. Smiley xd

"Would You Go With Me?" by Josh Turner was our recessional song.

We are having mostly country, but it's all Texas Country.

Recessional: One I Want - Flatland Cavalry

First Dance - Forever Young - Stoney LaRue (New last name will be Young, so it fit. Lol)

and we're playing stuff during the reception like Shane Smith & The Saints, Cody Johnson, Kevin Fowler, etc.

Haven't figured out the other dances/happenings, but I'm sure they'll be country as well!

Our first dance song was In Case You Didn't Know by Brett Young and father/daughter dance was I'll Be Your Man by Zac Brown Band. There were a few other country songs played throughout the night but those are the memorable ones :-)
