California Brides - hanging on?

How are we feeling 2021 brides? LOL. I’m trying to laugh instead of lose my mind.

Mine will be indoors as well, but don’t worry just like all cold seasons it will spike soon then should die down by the winter Smiley smile

I need help!!! Can someone refer me to a business or individual that coordinates beach weddings in central California? Since I am out of state I do not know much about the areas… I just know what I’m looking for lol! I desperately need help finding the perfect beach… We are hoping for a sept ceremony :-)

Honestly nervous with the spike in virus cases and all of the fires in our area. Not even sure how the honeymoon will go considering all of the travel restrictions, I’m hoping there’s no 2 week quarantine if you have the vaccine cuz at that point our 5 day honeymoon is useless 🤦🏻‍♂️

Grateful for this thread. October 16 wedding in Temecula. I invited 200 people thinking we were going to be home free. Trying to stay calm but the news about cases surging is making me so stressed. I really don’t want to endure personnel restrictions or mask mandates again. I surveyed my guests for vaccine status with my paperless post save the date and I also posted to my website that vaccines were mandatory for all vaccine eligible guests. I even fired my DJ bc they refuse to get vaccinated. Photographer doesn’t want to get vaccinated but I’m making her wear a mask. I’m wondering how many people will change their mind about attending due to delta variant fears.

Delta is definitely stressful! I feel your pain. I’m a postponed bride getting married in September and it was all good just four weeks ago!

I’ve been tracking delta and it looks like LA county will come down from a peak in a couple of weeks. I would assume other areas in California will have the same peak, maybe slightly delayed. There are news reports that delta wave will be over by October throughout the country so I wouldn’t be too worried about your date. You should be okay!
As far as having 200 guests, I would probably make a b list and have it on hand. The good thing about the pandemic is that people will understand. These are decisions everybody is making. You’ll also find some people dropping out. Probably more of the out of towners since they don’t truly understand California situation other than the national news.
If all of your guests are vaccinated then you should be fine. California might make an indoor mask mandate which isn’t ideal but at least you could still have your special day with all of your guests. Another option is to see if your venue has an outdoor space. Our wedding is completely outdoors and thankful we made that choice.
If you are still nervous you can consider all guests vaccinated or not show a negative test 72-48 hours before the event. Im thinking about implementing that rule.

We are almost 4 months away and most of the big decisions are done. Now we are handling a lot of the smaller details. Definitely feeling more real now!

September 24th!!! We already got legally married last year, due to canceling the wedding. So this year was just celebrating with all our loved ones. It seems like even outdoors you will wear a mask. I didn’t pay so much money to have everyone in masks. Honestly at this point if it cancel I will no longer reschedule. It’s too stressful. 😩

Hi, I’m getting married on Sunday August 1st Santa Barbara. 😵‍💫 I have five kiddos so it’s been challenging getting everything done. I can’t just get up and go as I please. I have to beg my teenage daughters to please babysit my two youngest. For example I just bought my wedding band today! Lol 😆 it’s fun planning and putting everything together. I can’t wait for the celebration. 🥰

Getting married Sept 11th at a private residence. Only 50 ppl coming. Everything is outside. I think we’re fine to get married but my heart is heavy for my friends with kiddos who can’t get the vaccine yet and are stressing. Hope it peaks soon and comes down late August!

I’m September 10th in LA - around 80 people, completely outside. I think we will be good, however it’s still a little stressful! I’m watching closely and they are predicting a peak in late august for us. I hope we stay on track!

Sept 10th here! About 65 guests and mostly outdoors. However the music, dancing part of the evening was supposed to be indoors so we could go till midnight. If we move it outside we have to shut the wedding down at 10pm (we're getting married at a winery in Sonoma County there's a noise ordinance). So we've decided we'd rather have the wedding go until midnight and have to wear masks inside than shut the wedding down 2 hours early. We expect some people to drop out. Honestly at this point if I just have my family there I don't care anymore. Every person is vaccinated except my 4 little nieces. I think if everyone else goes home and it's just us and our families dancing (about 20 people) until midnight I don't care.

Feeling so hopeless today. Our wedding is Dec 2 in Tahoe, but seeing articles about the massive fires burning until then just has me depressed. Between California fires, the pandemic, all of it, just feel so down today. How's everyone else holding up with the fires and wedding plans?

I hear you, our wedding is in 9 days up in wine country. Tahoe is a good 4 hours from there but if the winds shift that could move everyone inside - and everyone is already nervous about attending a wedding inside due to covid. So if that happened our small wedding of 60 will probably drop to family only of 25

Was super on board with the vaccine requirement set by the venue (i put this on our invites before the venue even required it) but am super bummed by the mask mandate (i get it, i'm just PO'd at the ppl prolonging this) AS OF TODAY, MY WEDDING IS EXACTLY ONE MONTH AWAY and it's inside U_U

I'm hold up in my house til then. I cancelled my bachelorette party. Moved my honeymoon from Puerto Vallarta to Carmel. I NEED to stay covid-less until after the honeymoon which is right after the wedding. After that I couldn't care less. It's sucked all the joy out of me. I just want it to be over. But most things have been paid for and it's too late to turn back

I'm sorry to hear that. What part of California are you in? Do they have an outdoor area that you can move your reception to? I wasn't aware that there was an indoor mask mandate back in place if there is food and beverage being served. I got married in Los Angeles in September with the mask mandate in place and they were allowing indoor events without masks.
