Are any brides getting married at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, CA? What has your experience been with the venue since the pandemic began? Our wedding was scheduled for June 2020 and we postponed until January 2021. In my experience, they have been uncommunicative and I am struggling to get clear information. We are considering cancellation all together and having a smaller wedding elsewhere.

    They told me the same and said we could have as many people as we wanted..to me it sounds like they’re not going to be following full guidelines, which makes me uncomfortable.

    I totally miss read that message I thought it said there was not going to be any live music or dancing. I would be super upset to spend so much on a wedding and not be able to have dancing it would not be worth it to me to you have a wedding. If you guys can keep me posted! I don’t want to book with them until I know there’s no crazy restrictions

    We are getting married in the Oak Room on March 26th. We are still being told no dancing, no cocktail hour, desserts must be prepackaged prior to arriving at the venue. It’s literally just a reallllllly expensive dinner at this point.

    Has anyone upgraded to the Full Premium Bar? I upgraded and asked them what the beer and wine options are and was told that beer and wine are not included in the premium full bar. How does that make any sense? This place is seriously stealing our money and not even trying to offer an amazing experience.

    I so regret booking this venue. Smiley sad

    We booked full bar premium and beer and wine are included. I would talk to a manager. Are you allowed dancing? How about the seating indoors? Things are changing daily

    Thank you Carrie! Totally going to talk to a manger. They are fighting me so hard on the beer and wine which makes no sense.

    As of now, we are outdoors, but they are saying they think indoors will be allowed by then. They are also still telling us no dancing which really sucks...

    I was also told that next week they are believing that dancing will be allowed. So hopefully that come through for you. Interested to know how they are arranging seating inside. We were offered to move dinner outside by 50% of our tables to allow for more distance if we wanted.

    Hello Sandra,
    We are on the same boat. We are trying to get our money back but they keep telling us that rescheduling is our only option. We don't want to reschedule our wedding yet again. This pandemic really hurt my Fiancé & I financially that we just would not be able to go forth with it. They have sympathy or empathy & just keep redirecting us to reschedule. We just want our many back. Smiley sad

    Hello Debbie,

    We are trying to get our money back. We can't afford to reschedule our wedding yet again. They keep implying that rescheduling is our only option. We did not pay for a limited reception. Based on the conversations here looks like they keep going back & forth on whether things will be BAU. We just can't wait till then to see if things will be lifted either way. Smiley sad

    We tried to get our money back originally and they would not budge. We had to reschedule ours. They wouldn’t let us reschedule any later than March 2021 and things obviously still suck. They aren’t offering any sort of discount and they aren’t reducing the minimums. No dancing or cocktail hour.. we are literally paying close to $30k for a fancy dinner. . . . . . . . . 🤬

    That’s exactly my fear!!!! I did not like their wording in their contract!! Doesn’t it say something like you can cancel due to pandemic? They used a fancier word, maybe an attorney can find a way out? I would be livid to have to pay $30k just for dinner it’s just not fair

    Beer and wine (3 hours) is included in the per person pricing... the premium upgrades the beer and wine only to include liquor. Whoever is saying that is ____. 🙄 My rep I’ve been talking to confirmed this too.

    I had my small wedding in the oak room last week.

    All of my guests need to come 3 hours prior to doing the on-site covid test.

    Below 50 people.

    Most of our family and friends cannot come due to the covid situation as they are not in the state. I tried to change the date, but they were trying to charge me a lot more, so we just keep the date.

    The venue looks pretty tho, all my guests love it. I just wish they have better serviceSmiley cry . I had a hard time dealing with them.
