Cake Tasting -- how many people?!

Julie, on June 2, 2014 at 5:53 AM Posted in Planning 0 13

How many people is appropriate to take to the cake tasting? I cannot eat any of the cakes (gluten free...the one time I wish I wasn't!), so I don't want to leave the decision solely to my fiance! Smiley winking How many people did you take or what do you think is appropriate?

I took 3 with me on the first one. Future step mother in law, future aunt and our neighbor. The 2nd onecwas FH and our neighbor so she could help judge against the 1st place.

For us its going to be FH and me and my MOH. FH doesn't like cake so he's just coming as a formality lol.

I am just starting to set up consultations because we are customizing our cake - and they only allow 4 people to come. One place allowed 3.. so i would check with the bakery too!

We were told that we can have additional 2 people; however, I thought it would be best if me & my hubby chose our wedding cake our selves.

FH doesn't really like cake, but he is coming along because I want him to be included. My mom, sister and brother will be here visiting, so I purposely scheduled the tasting for when they are here. It is so hard to be planning this wedding without my mom and sister close by, so I want to include them in all that I can when they are here. So, it will be my FH, mom, sister, brother, DOC and I. The place we are doing the tasting at charges a $25 tasting fee, and that includes as many people as you want to attend.

We were told only three, could come to the tasting for both the bakery and the catering. My daughter and I went to the bakeries. For the BBQ my FH, daughter and myself. We were told to come hungry lots of samples to try. No fees.

It's only FH and I for everything ... None of our family lives in our town and only he has friends here (since I just moved) and I don't feel we need anyone's help. It's our day, we'll make the decisions together. Your situation must be tough though! I would say one, maybe 2 other people

It was just us two. I would suggest having BM and/or MOH go with you.

B&G and, if a 3rd person is paying for it, him/her.

Can they make you gluten-free cake? or at least the main cake for you and your FH?

It was only FH and I. We weren't really given much choice. Less people means less opinions, which might be a good thing.
