Cake tasting costs to buy products?

Anyone else run into a cost for cake tasting? I don't so much mind this. I think that's fine if they wanna cover the cost of making the items. But anyone else experience not only a cake tasting cost AND a cost per item you taste? I think that's a little ridiculous. What is my $10 for then, serving me the cake during their allotted day/time frame that they only do cake tastings for? Seems dumb to me. She said we can avoid the tasting cost and just buy cupcakes to take home. Soooo forcing me to buy the products basically. I just think this is so odd. Is this common or something that happened to anyone else??

Lol the “bakeries” I tried all used the same pre-made, commissary, basic white or chocolate sheet cake

so my married family all day “my cake was beautiful but didn’t taste good”...

Personally I could not cope lol

id rather have a hot mess that tastes great then intricately decorated dog food...

really hope that you find your perfect match!! It took me like 6 months and over 1000 calls but I found someone who has awesome skills in baking AND decorating lol

i hope everything gets resolved quickly: I know how stressful it is when You feel like it’s impossible to find what you’re looking for
