Cake table as guest book

Carrie, on September 6, 2019 at 11:28 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 8
My FH is a lineman and he brought home a reel stand for me to sand stain and paint. As I was completing it he suggested we use the top as a guest book. Instead of a traditional book. We’re keeping the table to use outside on our patio. It will have our last name and wedding date on it. Is this a good idea? I thought it was neat but some ppl may think it’s crazy!

I think that's a cute idea! Would you have all of those decorations on it? I would just be concerned about only certain parts of the table having signatures once the wedding is over.

I love this guest book idea! As Amber mentioned, would you be leaving it bare so people can sign all over it?

I would definitely look in to how you would seal it to ensure that over time the signatures won't disappear Smiley smile

As a transmission line designer, I love this!!!
My only concern with it also being a cake table is somebody knocking into the cake while signing it and making sure the signatures have a good distribution rather than all clumped in one area, if that makes sense.

I actually really like the idea. But I wouldn’t have anything on it if you want people to sign there. Otherwise there’s going to be a big blank spot on it, which may look odd when you’re using it as a table. I also trust no one and wouldn’t want them potentially ruining my cake! Maybe you could get two, one for cake and one for signing. I would also put some kind of clear coating on it to preserve the signatures after the wedding.

If you do it that way just make sure everyone knows to sign before X time for the cake. Like an announcement or sign Smiley smile
