I feel like this may be a dumb question, BUT here we go anyway.

Cake serving sets- necessary or no? Worth the extra expense?
FH doesn't think it's worth it and thinks it's a waste of money. He doesn't think we'll ever use it again.
My sister says we should absolutely get one (she got one) and my mom said we could always just use a regular knife.
I just want to see everyone's thoughts. I don't want to spend the extra money if I don't need to (we're finding 100% of wedding ourselves). But also don't want to potentially miss a key piece...ugh😔

So, someone bought us a serving ware set that I’d put on our registry more for the slotted spoons and serving fork, but it also came with the perfect cake server that when I opened it, I planned to set it aside for our cake. However, I now with 13 days left to go cannot find the server. And I’m fearing that I left it in the box intending to put the box with wedding stuff but I’m pretty sure the box got put in our recycling bin and taken off the weekend before I started looking for the server again. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I bought one for like $15. I guess you don't *need* one but when you can get them so cheap, why not?

Keep in mind if you use the venue's it might be scratched/worn from so much use. If they are going to be in pictures I would probably buy one.
You can always sell it afterward.

I was able to find mine I think for like 10-15 bucks. I can’t remember how I spent exactly but it added a nice touch for pictures. I however and probably never going to use it again, but I am going to put my keepsakes in a shadow box to look back on.

They're nice to have, and make a lovely Wedding detail photo, but to be honest, you'll probably never use them again, or only on your anniversary.
Register for them! You'll probably get them as a bridal shower gift. I wouldn't say to take money out of the budget for them, but someone will be happy to gift them to you!

We were gifted one so we used that! it makes a nice photo op but I probably wouldn't have actually bought one myself.

We are planning on buying a cute personalized one off Etsy for $35, but I am the type of person that will 100% use it for every anniversary and stuff and be extra with it lol

I’m using the knife provided by my venue. I have enough keepsake and my name is on EVERYTHING! I haven’t even gotten married yet, I’m tried of seeing our names on everything. 😂
Plus I don’t eat cake, I would never use it again
