Did anyone else get quotes all across the board?

We are having a max of 60 guests. I am wanting a simple one tier semi naked cake that has some fruit& real flowers on top. I will supply the flowers.

We are also wanting a kitchen cake that will be served to the guests to keep cost down. Both of the cakes will be the same icing, flavors etc..just one will be fancier and on display.

I have given the same info to all of the bakers and have gotten quoted as high as $500.00! Today someone quoted me $150.00 and her cake and buttercream were hands down the BEST ones yet!

How much are your cakes costing you?

3 tiers for 50 guests, the cake itself feeds 75 to insure we'd have extra for people who wanted seconds. First tier is white almond, second is s'mores, third is red velvet. Cost us $275.

I am paying $75 for mine! Sams club! Pretty buttercream 3 tier. With burlap flowers simple and vintage and a killer deal!

We were quoted $6 per slice or a slight variation of that by most of the bakeries I checked out. We are paying about $600 for a 3 tier that feeds 86 and another $700 for a dessert bar.

Ours is roughly $600 for 70 servings, about $11 pp. This is high but the flavor and design was outstanding.

For 150 guests our cake is $600 for 3 tier buttercream with lace fondant accents. Will also have an extra cake in the back that's the same flavor, just not decorated. (saved me $130)

$875 for 175 people. This is the best bakery in Southern Maryland and FH really wanted it. ETA: Its a four tier cake that's shaped like staked logs with fall leaves and sunflowers.

We're doing a 3-tier fake cake and sheet cake for 175 for 250. We sampled and the cake is amazing. She doesn't charge much because she does it for fun

In my area, 5-10. per serving.

Don't use a hobbyist, and be very discriminating with naked cakes; there is nothing to hide behind and not everyone does it well.

And no fake cakes and sheet cakes please.
