Cake ideas

What is everyone's idea of a cake topper and then for the guests cookies? Variety of different flavors.

Basically instead of cake of cupcakes, cookies. Like this picture.

First off, love it. We're also going to have a variety of treats available, I think that's super fun. As for the topper, we're going to have two little animal figurines that will likely end up as decor somewhere in our house later.

I’m not a fan of having something for the couple that’s not offered to the guests. You wouldn’t eat steak and serve your guests chicken. If you have cake, it should be an option for them as well.

I do think it’s nice to also offer cake for guests as C suggested— you could have the small topper like in your photo and then have a similarly flavored sheet cake passed out by your catering staff. People do that fairly commonly for larger weddings.

I See No Issue With It. After All It's YOUR Wedding.

I love the cookie idea. It’s different! I’ve been to a wedding that has done this. It was less of a mess. But, do whatever your heart desires (:

Personally I love this idea. We'll most likely be doing a small cheesecake for us to cut since the FH is gluten intolerant and doesn't eat regular cake. Then we'll have donuts for our guest and a few other little treats or candy. So I see no problem with that at all! We'll be doing the typical shadows of the bride and groom for the topper except we'll have a german shorthaired pointer with it as well for our dog Smiley smile

I think it's a good idea to have as a second dessert, or maybe even as the dessert on display and the one you and your FH cut into. But I think that you should offer your guests cake still. Maybe have a sheet cake in the back that can be offered to your guests? I love both cookies and cake, but for me a wedding reception doesn't seem complete without the cake. But as PP have said, it's your wedding in the end, and you know your guests best, so do whatever feels best to you

We had a cake, but also a full dessert bar, that included cookies! This way, guests had a wide variety of options.

I’d be pretty bummed if there wasn’t cake and only cookies.

I think that is a nice idea! that way you could still do a cake cutting ceremony if you wanted

I think you can serve whatever dessert you want, as long the same dessert (or dessert selection) is available to everyone. If you and your future spouse don't like cake, that is fine. You two can split a cookie for the "cutting ceremony."

The steak vs. chicken analogy above is apt. It may be your wedding, but these are your guests. Be a gracious host.

Our venue offered a full dessert table, and we had a cake.

This way, if people had allergies or other dietary issues, then they could pick accordingly.

If there is cake, it should be an option for everyone.
