McKay try a Sobey's. I am about 2 hours outside of Toronto. Our Sobey's does cakes and wedding flowers. Very inexpensive compared to bakeries.

Thanks @Penelope! I've tried there but mine is SO lame. I can hardly even get pre-made cakes there for birthdays. They just have the packaged chocolate walnut and random kinds which suck lol. I'll try different ones!!

Here's our cake. Our bakery has a base price of $2 per serving (all buttercream, 3 different flavors inside). So we are expecting 200-250 people so our cake is 200 servings so $400. Then they charge an extra $100 per tier design, so like the picture we had to pay another $200 for designing 2 tiers. Also the triple layers (notice the design layers are thicker) is an extra $50 per layer, so another $100. Total our wedding cake was $700. Not exactly what I wanted (I wanted simple with gold spray but they didn't offer it the way I thought and I rather not experiment). The groom's cake was about $160, and the delivery ($100) and taxes basically brought our total to almost $1,000. Which is what I budgeted for cake anyway, thankfully the cake was the one thing my dad volunteered to pay for. It made making the decision so much easier. We could have gone so much cheaper (like half for the wedding cake) but the groom's cake we liked is Haydel's specialty (were having a 4 tiered king cake with white, black & gold and a little crown). Hope that helps.
