Cake decoration - flowers or cake topper?

Am, on July 4, 2019 at 11:56 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 12
Hi! We’re deciding between a cake topper or flowers to decorate the cake. We already have a cake topper and flowers on the cake are included with our package with our florist so both are equally viable options. We don’t want to do both because we prefer a simpler look. Just can’t decide between the two and wanted to poll the WeddingWire community 🙂

I like the cake topper just worry it would look a little bulky on the cake or make the cake look too tall? But maybe not! Thoughts?

i attached photos of the two. Thanks for your votes! 🙂🙏

That’s a cute topper, but I really like the simplicity of the flowers personally.

Me too. Since you have the topper, can you use it on your guestbook table or memory table (if you’re doing one)?

Hey Am!! This is entirely personal preference and answers will totally vary based on people's tastes. If you like the look of the cake topper, why do you feel like you are second guessing yourself? Does your FH like the cake topper?

I personally think that either will look great and it’s most important that you are happy with how it looks!!

What flavor cake did you go for?

That is a really cute cake topper, but I love the flowers! I'll be doing greenery on my cake so I'm a bit more partial to that

Personally, I really like the flowers but I’m usually a diehard cake topper fan. We are using both a cake topper and babies breath flowers on our cake 😁 I’m getting my cake topper in the mail soon!

Daughter had an adorable personalized cake topper, and then a couple flowers at the base of each of the 3 tiers. The cake itself was fairly plain -- just a simple spatula finish (like the second photo). The cake looked awesome.

We're actually doing both, our florist is making a small sprig of evergreens and berries for us to add to the cake. I found a cake topper that I think won't take away from the rest of the cake.

While flowers are beautiful, for me personally, I feel there is something missing when a multi layer wedding cake doesn't have a cake topper. Like it's unfinished and could be for anyone.

Go with the flowers. Use the topper by your guestbook, memory table, or by your favors!
