Cake, cupcakes, or DONUTS!?

So my fiancé isn't a huge fan of cake, so for our "wedding cake" we were thinking of having a variation of cupcakes and donuts for our guest. Has anyone seen this or have other options we could explore?? Also would "cutting the donut" suffice? Haha I'm all for being different, I'm just trying to...

We are having donuts, no cake! we will probably have our caterer provide cookies & brownies as well.

At first, we were going to skip the cutting altogether. But the donut shop we're using offers 12"donuts so we're ordering one to cut and feed each other for the pics

That would definitely work. You can find a cool way to display them. I love me some donuts!

In my area, donuts are breakfast foods, so I vote cupcakes.

Seriously, I don't think I've ever had a donut after 10am. All the good donut shops close at noon because we eat them hot, fresh, and soft. Now we have Dunkin, and they're open all day, but they don't make their donuts fresh and hot there, so....

I honestly hate the idea of not having cake and would be sad if I went to a wedding without one. But if you're not a fan of cake I totally get it, the donut walls are really cool if you do it right!

@amber I hear the word donuts and I come running haha

@e-tex the donut shop we're getting ours from that I've been going to since I was about 5 are open 24 hours and they bake them fresh all day long. We're talking frosting dripping off the sides fresh. They're amazing.

Donuts are completely fine for a wedding. But if you think that "cutting the donut" it weird, then you could just have a dummy cake or a small one tier cake used for cutting only.
