I've heard of this diet...I've also heard it gives a lot of flatulence, lol.

I bet you won't notice 12 pounds that came off with the cabbage soup diet as much as 12 pounds that came off over longer period of time. Now, I get the motivational part of that initial kick start.

I always used to be a fan of Weight Watchers. But I am not into the consistent counting anymore. And even if I fit sweets etc. into my allowed points - it ends up making me crave sweets even more.

I bought the SouthBeach diet book and did week #1 religiously and lost 8 pounds. Have been in phase 2, which seems super healthy to me - lean protein, loads and loads of vegetables, good carbs like fruit and lots of water. The have some really good recipes.

So far I am 10 pounds down. And no longer craving sweets or junk.

If you want to do a soup diet, I would make a basic vegetable soup. I think if you google weight watchers veggie soup it will come up. I did this for a week and lost 4 lbs. I was also exercising though and eating meat & veggies, so it wasn't like I was just eating the soup.

Is this a joke? Just start eating clean and work out. You don't need a jump start - all you need to do is watch what you eat. With a diet you'll never learn healthy eating habits and it won't matter. I lost ten months in January and continue to lose weight just by eating clean (3 meals a day with two snacks) and by working out 4-5x a week (pilates).

Breakfast: oatmeal or non-fat greek yogurt with fruit or quinoa and agave nectar

    Snacks: Almonds, Apples, Pears, Shakes

    Meals: Lean protein and veggies

I haven't been able to work out the last two weeks, and because I've continued to eat well I have not gained one pound.

@Gabriele.. that is a great idea. It is pretty much clean eating (besides the artifical sugars- I would use Stevia), low carb. I am doing the same right now. It works to get the first 5-10 lbs off... which is exactly what I need. Smiley smile

I eat clean but I still have trouble losing weight. My metabolism sucks. BTW it is pet peeve of mine when ppl say you need to learn clean eating for life... blah blah blah. We all know that. This is a forum about weddings and looking good in a dress. Nothing wrong with doing a diet to drop a few lbs before the wedding day. As long as its not super unhealthy its not going to kill you.

I did that diet back in the late 90s. Your house will stink, you fill have the worst gas and you will not lose that much weight. It's really not worth it- you're better off just eating clean, drinking lots of water and exercising.

I tried it. The soup was tasty, but we got tired of it pretty fast. It also made me gassy so beware.

It worked for me. In fact, it's worked me for a couple of times. (I try it before vacations.) The thing is, I get really sick of it so it's hard to stick to it. I'm one of those people who loves food and needs a good variety to keep my interest. A while back, I found this site that has a bunch of other fat burning soups. Because I'm not just sticking to the one, it's helped keep the extra weight off. Link is here. I think it costs a dollar but whatever. It worked. Site looks kind of sleazy but it's legit. http://bit.ly/2lFCCJY
