Buying used dresses

I didn't buy mine off the preowned sites, but I did get both of mine from sample sales. Same dresses, just at a fraction of the cost that I would have paid brand new. Definitely recommend. I did end up paying more for alterations than one of the dresses by about $100, but that's only because I got a steal on the dress ($2k dress for $300). I paid $450 for alterations on that one and had the back illusion netting replaced and straps brought in. Your alterations cost will definitely depend on the work that needs to be done and the materials (the expensive alterations on mine were due to the amount of beading on the dress). I'd say go for it and then find a great seamstress in your area.
