So, I have never been part of wedding planning such as being a bridesmaid. I didn't know much of what to expect other than having a budget and having ideas in mind for what kind of dress I'm envisioning for my wedding. I also researched boutiques in my area in narrowed it down to one that I was pretty sure I'd get my dress at and two other ones I thought might be nice to just check.

I had my first bridal appointment yesterday. The stylists were super sweet, attentive, and helpful! After trying on about 7 dresses, I chose the 3rd one I had tried on. I love it dearly and it definitely fits the bill of what I've been envisioning for my wedding day and all the dresses on my Pinterest board (Adore by Justin Alexander). But I will admit that perhaps I got swept up in the moment because before I knew it I was signing paperwork and placing a downpayment on the dress. I was pretty confident about the dress until I got home and started thinking about how I didn't browse at other stores, am I crazy for choosing a dress at the first store, and about whether I was fully embracing this once-in-a-lifetime experience. I know, I overthink just as much as I overexplain (i.e. this post xD).

The dress has a $150 cancelation fee and a 24 hour window to cancel. I called the boutique and explained my situation through tears and they were kind enough to extend my window until this Friday evening so that I can check out other stores and dresses. So, I booked an appointment today at one of the other boutiques I was eyeing. Lo and behold I found another dress that's also really gorgeous. It's a trumpet silhouette with lots of lace and tulle, hugs my curves, and makes this 4'11 gal look taller. However, I'm feeling thrown off because I never envisioned a trumpet silhouette so I didn't expect to seriously consider wearing one for my wedding day.

Both dresses are priced about the same, but the second dress will also tack on $100 more for the cap sleeves, tax, and the $150 cancelation fee for the first dress. I also have a third and final appointment tomorrow at another store, so I might be left with another dilemma.

Should I keep my first dress or take the $150 loss and go for another one?

The first dress seems more traditional, but the second gown is sexy and elegant. They both look amazing on you!
What are the details on the second gown? (Designer, name, etc.?)

One of my favorite things to do when I can't make a decision is to flip a coin. Because when it lands on one side and I feel disappointed, I know I actually wanted the other one. (:

If you're just looking for opinions though, my favorite dress on you is the first one - sleeves or no sleeves looks beautiful.

I agree with everyone else though - there's always going to be gorgeous dresses out there, so once you make a decision, definitely stop looking around. Good luck Smiley heart
