Buy or Rent Dance Floor

Lynae, on May 26, 2019 at 1:01 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 6
Has anyone made their own dance floor? Is it cost effective or would it be better to rent?

I would rent. Most rental companies will come install, and then pack it up after. Also, what would you do with it after? Most people aren't in the market for a large dance floor and it probably wouldnt resell very quickly.

I priced it out and in my area which is fairly $$$ it was still less to rent. Plus an enormous chore

    Hey Lynae!

    Welcome to the WeddingWire community!

What size dance floor are you hoping to have? Have you looked into how much the materials would cost for you to make your own? It may seem cost-effective, but you must also remember that you will need someone to set it up and dismantle it after the wedding. Also, where will you store it? Do you have any other upcoming events that you can think of for which you will use it again?

I think renting one would eliminate a lot of stress for you, and for whoever you plan on asking to prepare it! By renting, it will be set up for you and then taken away with minimal stress or running around.

Have you looked into the cost of renting one for your wedding reception?

Thank you everyone for your input 😊 we have decided to make one. My fiance is very crafty and we were not liking the ones we were seeing for rent or their price's. Making it ourselves were spending a third of the money as renting. I'll post pictures of it when it gets finished. 😍

Yes please post after its done. I know where I live they range $300+ and the cost to make one is well under $100. My FH is also planning to make ours vs renting.
